APRIL 2018 - THIS week's PICTURE

Reconstituted Picasso - Girl with a Fan: photo by Malcolm Aslett

Bear with me on this.

I took a bunch of photos of this Picasso painting on a visit to DC. Then I put them together. I imagined I might do a cubist like reconstruction because, hey, Picasso did cubist pictures and, etc. What became obvious with that was it didn’t look natural and true to the subject. So I ditched that idea and tried to put them together mostly as they fell.

The clues are clearly there. A few small knots of incompleteness in the image of an image are, arguably, what the new image is about. The frame is crimped in a couple of places. An odd line or passage of paint. That’s it. No biggy.
