It was a cold day. I remember that. Those women to the middle right in those curious fluffy coats would have still been shivering. I was standing on a low wall looking down on the wheelbarrow below. There was a lot of building work. I have shown this one at a different stage in its development. I like that it has a series of definable viewpoints that show it is a joiner. For instance, looking down at the pavement, the 'single point' perspective of the shops to upper middle, facing the building to top left.

There is a tendency for the foreground to get progressively large and dull in a joiner and this one partly negates that by not being at ground leve.

I've just noticed: at least three pawnproker shops on this stretch. What does that say?
