A Rainy Day at Disney World: photo by Malcolm Aslett

Yes, It rains in Disney World. I nearly asked for my money back.

That crowd of raincoats is having a photo opportunity with a statue of..well, I forget. Probably Mickey Mouse or Walt Disney. There is a queue for most things in Disney Parks as you would expect but I still think it is one of the two hundred and twenty six wonders of the world - though I'm not going to say where it comes. How do they keep it so clean? How do they have so many teenagers working for them who are in a good mood? And all over a mouse. The best laid plans of mice and men. That is what they say. Though, what is this about mice planning things? Fortunately, they say they 'oft go awry' which is fortunate for us. Otherwise we would probably all be working in the fields for our mouse masters and living on cheese. Instead we get to make money and spend it at Disney World and eat, erm, cheeseburgers.

As you come in the grand entrance you are not far from this spot in a typical US town with a functioning public transport system and not a cop in sight.

I left the odd item floating in space. Disney is a dreamworld space but one rooted in an oddly matter of fact America of the forties and fifties. Only in America, right? I mean, you couldn't imagine the French building one, could you?
