Have I shown this image before? I can't remember. Not in this form which is, like last week's, treated to a helping of HDR (High Dynamic Range).

This is the Castillo de San Marcos in Fort Augustine, Florida. What it has going for it is the gritty detail of stone and grass. Not like those washed out blurry photos of our youth showing us in the local park. And this detail is a crucial part of our times, to get philosophical about it. The digital camera excels at the sharpened form, treating each recorded pixel with the same deference/contempt. There is actually a bit of blurring that was put in there to make a line of grass and sand where there wasn't one.

Thankfully the lop sided nature of the walls and the oddly dipping top right of the scene disturb the mechanical order. St Augustine wouldn't have approved.
