The Pompidou center has a lot to answer for. All those huge pipes that may or may not be doing something going from one place to another in a highly observable fashion.

But the main component of this photo is the eye. The common shape that happily(?) is created when the viewer scans a wide enough rectangle. I’ve never thought about it before but why is an eye eye shaped? The eye ball is round. Some creatures have essentially round eye shapes. Other primates have rounder eyes, surely. But the human eye is a streamlined affair. Old squinty. Which is what we have here.
