Crozet Pizza Revisited : photo by Malcolm Aslett

As I've been using the stitching programs more I have been going back to old sets of photos and redoing them to see what might come out.

The one below is a favourite of mine. I had to do a bunch of stuff to it including adding a window to right that is the same as the one on the left. I also needed the control to make those pizza circles in the middle close to proper circles. Left to the automated choices things changed up a lot. For some reason the faces chosen were often different (from other photos in the pack) and it even decided to eradicate one face due to lack of space. I did have to fill in some spots in the new version and chose to flip the bottom left to be on the bottom right as well, giving the form a tighter center and focus.

The time it took was a lot shorter. The advantages to me are the unpredictable elements, the randomizing of events, like a Surrealist exercise of chance. The disadvantages can be the sameness of the parts and overall curves.

I've got a few more that I've redone. I'll put some up when I have time and space.
