APRIL-MAY 2019 THIS week's PICTURE

You come across a scene that is new to you, say, with a cannon on a hillside, and you start snapping because it looks interesting, and then you stick it together and you look at it and you realise it is just a picture of a cannon no matter what you do.

Bits are complete. Bits are missing. Tones and colours vary. The soil men bled on is below your feet. The sun they failed to live to see is behind. There's even a bench for them to sit on, had they lived long enough. And still it isn't inspiring.

For me even the term 'civil war' makes me fidget and look for something else to do so maybe it;s just me. What else is there more to say than:

I came, I saw, I joinered.
