I remember Clive James writing about Kenneth Clarke's series ' Civilization' and remarking on the way the camera had Clarke talking about a place that would be shown in the same shot like it was a parrot sitting on his shoulder. So I call these type of photos 'Parrot shots'. They are your typical tourist image with the Arc de triomphe or the big ball of twin evident in the background. Nothing to be ashamed of and I do a lot of them.
