Augie at the Rotunda Revisited : photo by Malcolm Aslett
Here's another reworking using to a greater degree a stitching program rather than the hard slog of an image at a time. There was some work left to do on the steps and the railing to left and right as the program gets lost on that stuff quite easily. The surprise was the overall shape and the ridiculous billowing of the pillars to the right. Obviously the lower section of the steps is now curved rather than blocky, and I miss that structural certainty. It was over-kill to have so many versions of the boy but that's what is in there. Rather than confuse the program further I only included certain photos that had figures in them. I also left out the building to the right which works nicely in the original as a balancing form. The brickwork at base, which had a more dominant role in the first version now becomes negligible. A couple of details I miss in the new version, particularly the curlicue on the left hand side of the base step. Oh, and the football. But the new one has a fun bounce to it. |
