Big Lodge Interior : photo by Malcolm Aslett
Following on from the exterior last month. And also last week's image of the Space Museum which has the same main curves but with this one not having the vertical forms corrected. Natural light coming in from the windows is the important part. The glow of the natural light versus the box like quality of the wooden room. The knees of the photographer show another level of intimacy and personal relation. That makes me think. What else can the photographer show? The artist in his mirror is a common one but other parts of the body are rarely used. Escher's hands. Sometimes a fat belly. It gives a new take on the selfie. The detail below is from the textile on the table in front of the knees. No idea what it is. It just happened to be there. Secondarily the subject of an imag like this is surface, with the wood and the textiles being the skin of the whole. That's it. |
