This is a half hour exercise in trying to work with a picture that I wanted to be more.

The 'original' joiner is shown below. I expanded the breadth of the canvas and filled in with sky blue and clouds. While doing the clouds I noticed they were vaguely like faces so I thought of doing drama faces, one happy, one sad though not so much as you immediately recognise them as such.

For the grass I ended up repeating the right hand side to keep some balance.

Though it is a little cheesy to do faces in clouds I do like the idea of making them into shapes. If it is good enough for Mantegna it is good enough for me. The main reason I did this was to have a new picture to put up this week while I gather up steam to do my next idea - interior/exterior shots. I just have to find a place I want to do it. Can you guess what I mean? Photographing an interior and then stepping outside and doing the exterior. In a regular photo the light differences don't allow this to any major degree unless you boos the interior lighting. But with a joiner each photo has a different exposure. I am intrigued to see how they would look. I've done this to a small degree but want to do it on a grander scale. So while I mess on with it I will present quick fillers for the next few weeks.
