MULTI-VIEWPOINTS
Several viewpoints can be involved in a joiner photograph to include viewpoints and elements of interest that are unavailable any other way. In Tom at the Door, Upper Winchendon it is a little more obvious that the floor, curiously appears as flat as the wall above. These ‘primitive’ perspectives are the kind of visual pleasure you can create with joiners:
The approach is one of loose geometry and the arrangement of squares and rectangles in a semi-abstract way. The patterning gives the composition a strength that is determined by the maker more than the scene.
